As much as I have opposed ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION (I go back 30 years!!), I do feel that an AMNESTY PROGRAM of some sort would make the "GTFO ILLEGALS" pill a bit easier to ''swallow'' by all concerned.
(Remember, I am a COMPASSIONATE CONSERVATIVE!)
Those ILLEGALS who can prove their good citizenship should be considered for amnesty.
With the vast information system(s) that we have today, it would be quite easy to separate the good citizens from the bad!
The following article maybe a good example.

****Small Business Owner, Mother Of 3, Facing Deportation.
AURORA, Colo. -- Several community groups are trying to stop the deportation of a small business owner and mother of three who they admit has been living in the United States illegally for 14 years.
Jeanette Vizguerra, who is from Mexico City, was scheduled for a final hearing before an immigration judge on Monday.
Community groups call Vizguerra an outstanding community leader.
Vizguerra owns a moving and cleaning company and has employed dozens of people throughout the years, according to her immigration rights advocacy group, Rights for All People.
Rights for All People, Colorado Progressive Coalition, Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition, Coloradans for Immigrant Rights and Interfaith Worker Justice held a protest outside the Federal Courthouse Monday morning in support of Vizguerra.
The group said Vizguerra came to the attention of immigration officials after a traffic stop in which an officer asked if she was in the country legally.
Rights for All People said Vizguerra is the sole support of a husband who is fighting cancer and that she has three citizen children.
Vizguerra was going through the citizenship process as of December, according to the Aurora Sentinel.
