I have applied in EB2 category with job title of Sr. software engineer. and I have frnds who have applied for EB2 under, Programmer analyst, team lead.
But all of them had Master of science from USA.
And all of us have our I140 cleared and waiting to apply for I485 when its gets current.
Reno, could you please give us more information about your and your friends' experience :
- What your qualifications are.
What the Sr. software engineer job requirements were. Things like:
- Education
- Experience
and also more info about your experience with PERM:
- Processing center. Chicago or Atlanta?
- Processing time.
- Any audits?
- Any business necessity documentation requirements?
I know I'm asking for a lot of info but I think it would be extremely helpful for many folks who are preparing to file under EB2 to avoid regression.

1) I would go with travelers cheq's like "srinithati" mentioned. That way it wont be a problem asking someone to bring along with them when travelling from India to USA
2) If you still have any money on your NRI account , check to see if its re-patriatable type. If you what-ever money you have on you URI account ( except the minimum balance you might need to keep you can convert back to dollars.
3) May eb we should think about Hawala ( India -> USA ) due to these conversion rates

Everyone getting receipt notices, and not coming to the rally, (not coming to the rally -most on tracker threads), please at least consider contributing to the rally once you get your notice or FP done or get EAD!. The rally cost is huge and we can do much more if people can contribute generously.
We helped you get to the stage so that everyone can file I485s. It pains us in the core team see how our members who used to tell us all the time to at least allow them to file I485 and then they will wholeheartedly take part and support IV have turned their backs on us now. With our work and victory in Visa bulletin fiasco, we even answered people who used to ask us for our achievements before they could contribute.
Now it is your opportunity to deliver.

Lot of people get stuck in the name check in AOS, and many of them wait for at least 6 months. I am wondering if someone may get stuck in namcecheck and may have to wait for months in home country while doing cp?

this whole thing sucks. USCIS cannot adjudicate even I-131 on time. We have booked our travel tickets after 100 days of Received date of AP renewal application and looks like we have to cancel our tickets and waste $1800. This really blows and its attrocity to the core that USCIS cannot process AP renewals inside 90 days time period and its a shame that they are not answerable to anyone.
wow! I am worried about my case now. I booked tickets for Nov. Its 45 days and I haven't heard anything. I will have to expedite in about 15 days from now. I can't imagine canceling my tickets after 4 years.

The recorded message at NVC says that on july 2nd they generated the fee bill and it was sent to my attorny. How long does it normally take to get the fee bill through. We are in the last week of jully now that 21days so far.
any ideas/expected time frames???

With all due respect, the probelem I have with volunteers is that I don't think amtures can pull a job this big, you've got to have profesionals, somethng like a compain maneger.
I admire the courage of your guys, and think the goal is fantastic. But the way it goes, I don't see how it can be achieved.
I've learned a great deal about immigration from the forum here. I very much appreciate it. I try to give back by answering questions others may have. I think IV has been doing a great job serving as that capacity.
But you guys want do something bigger. Well, you have faith in it, I don't, at least not now, neither many others. Maybe that is why you are still asking for money and volunteers.

My I-140 has not been approved and I am not going in for PP. I thought about it yesterday, but even if the I-140 was approved there is no guarantee that 485 would be approved before Nov.1st.

If you had received a denial of your application for example not having the same designation/ different salary/different location etc... please contact and we would like to assist. This would also help us try solve the larger issue of restrictions on applicants during their greencard journey where they are bound with employers, salary, designation, narrow occupation field etc.

Scenario1:
If you are on H1 in your 6th year with EAD (not used) then after 6th year will be applicant be on EAD or does he has to fill I-9 with employer
Based on how HR departments handle i9 forms, in most companies, they may not know when your h1b or EAD is expiring - some HRs may have calender triggers and request for updated EADs or h1b extensions. Usually you need to show the EAD or H1b extension with updated i 94 and they take a copy and place it in your file so that if there is an audit, they will produce the documents.
So it is your duty to inform your HR department that you wish to work using EAD after 6th year so that they update the i 9 form
Scenario2:
If you are on H1 in your at the end of 6th year with EAD (not used) then before the end of 6th year an applicant loosed job. then from that point will he be automatically be on EAD or does he has to do some thing to file till he gets a job (because once he find a job and he might apply for new h1 or join with EAD and he can file I-9)
Basically, if your 485 is pending for more than 180 days and you lose job, then technically you can start using EAD and move on using AC21. You can even get a h1b transfer as your 140 is pending or approved.
EAD is not a status and one does not fall int EAD status - if you lost job on h1b and satisfy AC21 criteria then you are in pending AOS state and use EAD to work.

When we conducted D.C. rally, there were roughly 1500 people attended. Each member has his/her own reason for not attending the rally.
The reasons could be, taking a day off from work or to far from their place etc..,
As a first step��..:)
Why don�t we plan for rally on the same day, same time at various major cities? This would enable members to attend in their respective cities.
We knew that, we are 25K+ members strong and can hold rallies/protests, where we have (major cities) at least 100+ members.
We must invite media and local US leader�s for rally and show our strength and request them to work towards the Green Cards.
Why don�t we plan for a rally during the this Christmas season?

They hushed up and approved my EAD in 20 days. Why ???? 'cos So they don't hit Jun'30 and give 2 years. They wanted to milk another 680 from me so they hushed up and sent me the 1 year EAD in 20 days.
