****Tobacco Sticks To Be Sold in Kansas.
FAIRWAY, Kan. -- Popular tobacco brands Marlboro and Skoal are releasing a new product that reportedly looks and tastes like candy.
The “tobacco sticks” are sold in matchbox-sized packages and resemble chocolate-covered toothpicks.
Kansas will be one of only three states to first carry the new product, according to Ginger Park, media and policy coordinator for Kansas Tobacco Youth Prevention Program.
“The tobacco companies are always looking for new tobacco products to put out,” said Park. “Kansas is a test market for these new Skoal and Marlboro tobacco sticks.”
The sticks will be aimed at adult smokers and “dippers” who are interested in smokeless and spit-free alternatives.
So far the tobacco sticks have only been found in convenience stores.
