I could write you a letter,What is a friend? We all know a lot of people, we call them acquaintances. We work with a lot of people, mostly referred to as co-workers. We also have come across colleagues, classmates, roommates, neighbors and even family! What, then, makes them stand out as a friend? What promotes them to the next level?
But what would it say?
Could it make things better?
Would it make everything okay?
I could write you a song,
Full of love hope and grace.
Would you tell me what went wrong?
Could you say it to my face?
Could it be time? If you have known someone since elementary school, and you are now a college graduate, is that person a friend? Does time automatically decide ones status? Even if you only share festive cards once a year? Are they still a friend due to their 'renewal of friendship' once a year at holidays? Is their holiday card simply a way to tell the other person, that you are still in the game, therefore still your friend? And is this done, so that in the future, if you need something this friend has to offer, you can tell them that you are their oldest friend, so you owe me? What are old friends for?
The tender words are spokenMy greatest fear that I will lost most of my memories about my oldest friends. Some of them are still well keep, but others are deteriorating away. It was like my new memories of friends keep pushing my old memories far back in my vault of mind. I miss their presence but it was like ages ago. I afraid to call or meet them because I don't think we will have anything to talk about. But I do know one thing, I will do whatever it takes to keep them inside.
Each body and soul bared
Told secrets over endless days
Often doing more than dared
New world beyond my door
With intrigued and intensity
Now we have shared our hearts
A bond now made it permanently
It took us little time and effort
The bonding as strong as glue
I now promise never to untie
The strings I have tied with you
The understanding of each other
Breaths to take, we breathe the air
As the relationship interchanges
Knowing our loving hearts are there
We are usually 'friends' with them every time we're online, have their screen names on instant messenger but rarely IM them, and you would stop and talk with them for a few minutes if you ran into them on the street somewhere randomly (like, 'whoa, what are you up to these days? ahhh, cool! cya!'), but you wouldn't take the time to have coffee or dinner with them. But do all of them you call friends? No, we call them good acquaintances. You only meet them in cyberspace but you wouldn't really have anything to talk to them about if you are not in a large social setting.
The greatest Gift,Finally, I have finished this post. It does took me a lot of time (plus, I suddenly got a fever couple days before) but I hope it will makes you to think and asking yourself, how do you define a friend??
in the end
was a family
and a Friend.
An ear to lend
a hand to hold,
and you,
my Friend -
your heart of gold.
