****Homeowner Hits Suspected Burglar With Bat!
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A suspected burglar is in the hospital after a Colorado Springs homeowner hit him with a baseball bat.
Police were called to the home just after 3 a.m. Friday on a report of burglary in progress. Officers were told that the homeowner was actively fighting with an intruder.
The intruder was armed with a gun and had attempted to shoot the homeowner but the weapon misfired, Colorado Springs police said. The homeowner disarmed the intruder after striking him with a baseball bat.
The injured intruder was taken to a local hospital to be treated for a head injury. Further details on his condition were not available.
The homeowner was not hurt.
The home was located near East Las Vegas Street and South Circle Drive in Colorado Springs.
