W.I.P - Abarth 500 Pt.2

Remember this model kit? Yes, it was 1 year ago when I started it. LOL. I am busy bahhh! Anyway, I had decided to continue my 1/24 model hobby. Will update more progress on this model and other models too!

1/24 Aoshima NIssan R35 Pre-painted Kit Pt.2

Alright, here is what I had done so far on the AOSHIMA Nissan R35 Pre-painted kit. For the first time, my both hands are free from paints! I must say this is a very enjoyable build. Required no stress and sweat. Just a pair of scissor, cutter, cement and some patience.

In about 1 hour, I managed to complete the whole interior and under-chassis.

Aoshima did a great job on the painted interior. Most of the parts are painted to contrast the painted black interior. Hey even the air-con vents are painted!

This is the part where I must thanks AOSHIMA. The R35 window frame had been pre-painted! Even some small details like the signal lights on the front bumper and rear bumper are painted too! Seriously save me the time of masking that out.

This is where I trial fit the body to the chassis

Another picture where the painted headlamps and bumpers are cemented in place. I am liking this build so much. No doubt I am going for another Aoshima Pre-painted kit!

I think AOSHIMA should call their new PrePainted range the "Lazy man 1:24 model kit". LOL

1/24 Aoshima NIssan R35 Pre-painted Kit Pt.1

This is the latest 1/24 kit i acquired a few months ago. The kit is 1/24 Aoshima Nissan GTR 35 "Pre-painted kit". This is the first time I venture on a pre-painted kit, usually I do all the painting and details myself for all my 1/24 car models.

When I saw this kit online I said to myself to give it a try and see how "pre-painted" is pre-painted in Aoshima dictionary. Usually for a pre-painted kit, Gundam or whatever kit, they are usually limitation on the paint job as smaller details are usually ignored.

Upon inspecting the model kit, I must say I am very impress with the details that Aoshima put on to the kit. To sum it up, you just need a pair of scissors and cutter. Everything is pre-painted as said on the box.

What had been painted?
  • Car, bumper, spoiler all painted in Pearl white
  • The car window black frame (a real pain in the butt if you have to do it yourself)
  • Lower body black skirting
  • Brake caliper
  • Suspension
  • Exhaust

  • Dashboard
  • Interior Center Console
  • Door handle
  • Steering Wheel
  • Window black detail (also a big pain in the butt due to masking it)

Hey, even the details on the headlamp are painted!

I can't wait to get this kit started by this week. Will post more of it very soon.

1:24 Bugatti EB110 by Revell Germany

Here we go again with more 1:24 model kit. I purchased this kit over eBay a few years ago. You all heard of Bugatti Veyron, yes?, bet you haven't heard much of Bugatti EB110? Here is some WiKi facts. It was one of the fastest street production car during the 90s. The kit you are looking at is produced by Revell Germany in 1992!!! Yeap, the kit is well over 18 years old! And I can tell you the then technology and the current technology of making the model kit is far far apart. Check out the pictures.

I bought this kit for about AUD$40 and the box was in pretty bad shape. Luckily the contents are well preserved.

The kit itself is very detail but I was a bit let down by the quality of the kit. Lets hope it will not turn out to be a disaster kit.

Produced in 1992, I think some of the readers are not even born yet

Abarth 500

Hi! Firstly I would like to apologize to two readers that I promised that I will post more pictures of my other exclusive Transformers. I am currently working on two 1:24 car kits, so the Transformers stuff will have to come later. Hehe.

This model kit here is manufactured by Fujimi and its called the ABARTH 500. I just completed the under chassis so now awaiting for the right weather to have the body painted. Check it out.

Mocking up the bumpers and body shell on chassis for fitting checking

I hope Brunei will bring back the FIAT brand as there are so many cool cars, like the Fiat 500c

I just checked the weather today and it seem to be good for painting this little car. We shall see how....

1:24 Porsche Carrera S (997)

Last 2 weeks, I purchased a bottle of Mobil 1 engine oil for my Boxster S and was surprised to find out that it comes with a free Porsche model. I was told that with any purchase of any Mobil 1 engine oil products customer is entitled for a free 1:24 Porsche Carrera S model! If I am not mistaken, there are two type of models available for the campaign. One is the Carrera S and the other is Boxster S.

Mobil 1 5W-50 Fully synthetic engine oil recommended by Porsche

Here is the freebie! Porsche 911 (997)

Product by Welly, I do not expect much as they manufactured low end car model for the mass market

There is just one problem with the model, the molding line are visible both on the side panel and rear panel of the cars

Apart from that, everything else is not too shabby for a 1:24 die-cast model

I shouldn't complaint much as it is hard to grab 1:24 Porsche 911 (997) die-casts or model kit. Unless you go for the original model from Porsche Catalogue

Size comparison with my newly acquired 1:18 Guard Red Porsche GT3

Will post the 1:18 Porsche GT3 very soon....
