Why I Naturally Like this Song

It's Only Natural

Hey guys! I am changing my Music Monday edition a little bit this time around; I will list down why I chose this song to be featured here. You can give it a spin, try to listen to it and comment whether you agree or not with my list *fist bump under the table*

This week Music Monday choice is The Higher – It’s Only Natural. Special shoutout to the88thkaiser for suggested this song through my Twitter!)

Why I Naturally Like It’s Only Natural song:

1. Nerdy factor
I can only speak for myself, but I am pretty sure we all think alike; the keyword is “think”, yes, we do that often than trying to be likeable. Thus, nothing is more exciting that watching a nerdy man gets a lovely girl.

2. Shopping should be THIS fun
Remember the old music that faithfully accompanies you in the lift? Try to air that inside a shopping mall. Lame.

3. Fun, catchy and sweet
Three words that can describe the music; good for a night out! Enjoy!

The Higher – It’s Only Natural

The Higher - "it's Only Natural"

It's Only Natural

It's Only Natural Lyrics
I wish you would, oh oh oh
Come over here and
Show me something good,
You got me thinking about, thinking about
How you look, ooh hot damn
You must have wrote the book
Oh, that girl is so fine
She must've wrote the book

And every second is electric
Like a thousand volts
Not to mention, my intentions
Only natural, and your affection
Is the question
I've yet to close and I'm close

You keep giving me looks
When you come my way
The way you shaking me up it's like an earthquake
You keep giving me looks
That I can't escape
You make my pulse race
With the aoa

And you know I could, oh oh oh
Come over there and give you
Something good,
I bet you're thinking about, thinking about
How you're hooked, oh on me now
You know I wrote the book ooh
With a touch like mine
I must have wrote the book

And every second is electric
Like a thousand volts
Not to mention, my intentions
Only natural, and your affection
Is the question
I've yet to close and I'm close

You keep giving me looks
When you come my way
The way you shaking me up it's like an earthquake
You keep giving me looks
That I can't escape
You make my pulse race
With the AOA

And every second I'm infected
And without a cure
And I'm positive
You're someone who's worth fighting for
You just got that something more
Plus... I'm really sure

You keep giving me looks
When you come my way
The way you shaking me up it's like an earthquake
You keep giving me looks
That I can't escape
You make my pulse race
With the AOA

You keep giving me looks
When you come my way
The way you shaking me up it's like an earthquake
You keep giving me looks
That I can't escape
You make my pulse race
With the AOA

Oooo0hhhh, you must've wrote the book!

Free Palestine - Stop Crying Your Heart Out

Free Palestine Israel Flag
This is a special post of Music Monday dedicated to all the war victims, relatives and countries. It is my deepest regret to watch, listen and read of what had been happening in the last couple of weeks. I was asked few times to state my point of view in the flotilla activists attack, but my answer will always be the same. Without an in-depth knowledge of what was actually happening in there, I am afraid I will be giving a bias judgment. An opinion should not have to stand under the name of religion alone. As a Muslim that live in a majority of Muslims country, I only able to step aside and watch all these wars that had and have been happening just across the world.

Free Palestin 2
In Malaysia, there were few protests have been held upon the news of captivation of 12 Malaysian activists (who even been deemed as “Wira Negara” national heroes) and protests against the Israel attacks on Palestine. My friend had the opportunity to capture a Free Palestine protest in front of the US embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Thank you so much Khairul Afif for giving me the permission to publish few of his pictures here.

I always love Oasis and Stop Crying Your Heart Out is one of the best songs from them. "Hold up... Hold on... Don't be scared. You'll never change what's been and gone. May your smile shine on. Don't be scared, your destiny may keep you warm." Check out the video and lyric below:

Hold up... hold on... don't be scared
You'll never change what's been and gone
May your smile (may your smile) shine on (shine on)
Don't be scared (don't be scared)
Your destiny may keep you warm

'Cause all of the stars have faded away
Just try not to worry, you'll see them someday
Take what you need and be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Get up (get up) come on (come on)
Why you scared? (I'm not scared...)
You'll never change what's been and gone

'Cause all of the stars have faded away
Just try not to worry, you'll see them someday
Take what you need and be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

'Cause all of the stars have faded away
Just try not to worry, you'll see them someday
Just take what you need and be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

We're all of the stars
We're fading away
Just try not to worry, you'll see us someday
Just take what you need and be on your way
And stop crying your heart out

Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out
Stop crying your heart out...

Norah Jones - Young Blood

Norah Jones
The lyric of this song is a little bit twisted (although deep) and weird for me; "kissed my neck with a crooked, cracked fang, you always hoped one day you'd be mine" or "roosters are nothing but clucking clockwork". However, like most of Norah Jones' songs, I believe that Young Blood meant to be served as an advice to young people. Her voice (her voice was just like in album!) and her new look never been this good. Spread some love, check out this song and lyric below:

Norah Jones The Fall

I'll pretend my heart's not on fire
If you steal my true love's name
Broke down subway in this city of spires
Tape your picture over his in the frame

We'll imagine we're sleeping revolvers
Shotgun wedding in a strange SoHo
Our chambers hold silvery collars
Gun down werewolves wherever we go
We gun down werewolves wherever we go

Midnight phone calls in the back of a Mustang
Creased white pages torn right from the spine
Kissed my neck with a crooked, cracked fang
You always hoped one day you'd be mine

Threw our fathers on funeral pyres
I'm not sure that we were playing a game
Busted gasket in a field full of liars
No one noticed we set five boroughs aflame
No one noticed we set five boroughs aflame

Young blood
Young bone
Old ghosts
Go home

Band of gold with a diamond implied
You wrote letters that you never sent
I made promises I'll always deny
Now we'll never know what the other meant

Watch is ticking like a heartbeat gone berserk
Lost the chance to wind the key
Roosters are nothing but clucking clockwork
Our fears are only what we tell them to be
Our fears are only what we tell them to be

Drown the last of our matches
Burn the rest of each other
You were strongest when I ached for breath
Through the thick of smoke we'll finally smother

Young blood
Young bone
Old ghosts
Go home

Happy Music Monday everyone!

Daniel Merriweather - Red

Daniel Merriweather

I just love Daniel Merriweather. I rarely love all the songs in an album, but in his 2009's album, Love & War, surprisingly I love them all. His voice, the lyrics and the overall sound of it just an ear candy. Check out Daniel Merriweather's single, Red:

And I can't do this by myself
All of these problems, they're all in your head
And I can't be somebody else
You took something perfect
And painted it red

Daniel Merriweather Red

And I'm alright
Standing in the streetlights here
Is this meant for me
My time on the outside is over
We don't know how you're spending
all of your days
Knowing that love isn't here
You see the pictures
But you don't know their names
Cause love isn't here

Chorus
And I can't do this by myself
All of these problems, they're all in your head
And I can't be somebody else
You took something perfect
And painted it red

No sympathy
When shouting out is all you know
Behind your lies
I can see the secrets you don't show
We don't know how you're spending
All of your days
Knowing that love isn't here
You see the pictures
But you don't know their names
Cause love isn't here

Chorus
And I can't do this by myself
All of these problems, they're all in your head
And I can't be somebody else
You took something perfect
And painted it red
When - you took something perfect
And painted it red

You take the best things from
Then everything gets empty
That's not a world that I need
Oooh, you take the best things from me
Then everything gets empty
That's not a world that I need
Oohhhh

Chorus
And I can't do this by myself
All of these problems, they're all in your head
anekatips.com
And I can't be somebody else
You took something perfect
And painted it "red"

When - you took something perfect
And painted it red
(repeat)
You took something perfect
And painted it red

Annie Lennox - Universal Child

Annie Lennox
I still can't forget one of my favorite singer of all time, Annie Lennox when she performed during American Idols Gives Back week. She sang Universal Child while wearing a "HIV POSITIVE" T-shirt which of course caused a great hiatus in the internet on whether she's really HIV positive. This is the message taken from her official site:

The HIV POSITIVE T shirt is such a strong and simple tool.. It works on so many levels at the same time..

1. It challenges whoever sees the wearer of the T shirt into responding in some kind of way..which could range between....
”Oh my God, the person wearing this T shirt is HIV positive..Should I attack them, run away, feel sorry for them, or ask them why they’re making such a provocative statement”?
2. If I ask them if they’re HIV positive and they say that they are..Should I... “Shuffle away as quickly as possible”? “Commiserate with them, and shuffle away as quickly as possible”?
“Ask them where they bought the T shirt, and buy one immediately, so I can wear one too”? Ignore the whole thing, and regard it as a bizarre fashion statement.

Annie Lennox HIV Positive T-Shirt
She is correct of course. The HIV positive shirt was the number one most discussed topic on Yahoo and Myspace. Just a plain simple shirt can generate that much interest in a topic as heavy as HIV. I did a few research just to know more about Annie Lennox and her HIV awareness campaign and really amazed by what she has done. Do you still remember the Young, Beautiful and HIV Positive that I talked about in Without Hope and Dream, the World is Nothing? This kind of campaign definitely help in creating awareness and not just shove the black sheep of the family, which is HIV under the rug.

The stigma that accompanies HIV is truly profound, for many reasons, and the problem is that it is so stigmatised that it walks into a closet, and shuts the door behind itself, thus creating and re creating paranoia, fear and discrimination.

As a woman and a mother I intend to keep sending out the message...even if it often feels like I’m the little Dutch boy with my finger in the dam...

Annie Lennox, I wish one day I could be that little boy too. Enjoy my selection of this week Music Monday: Annie Lennox - Universal Child.

Kick Ass!

Kick Ass Poster
Mika - Kick Ass song is a soundtrack for the upcoming Kick Ass movie. This is officially one of my favorite songs at the moment! Just check out this amazing lyric:

We are young
We are strong
We're not looking for where we belong

We're not cool
We are free
And we're running with blood on our knees

We could rule the world
On a silver platter
From the wrong to the right light
To an open stream

With a crash and burn
We could make it better
Turn it upside down
Just you and me

We are the dream
No other way
To be

I could change the world
I could make it better
Kick it up and down
Take a chance on me

What is there not to love? The music is catchy and I have a crush on Mika's voice (but, for God sake, eat something dude!). This song is uplifting my spirit and makes me think that I could do anything in this world! Yeah!

Who is Your Hero?

Superman!
Hi there all my favorite readers. I am now enjoying my long deserved holiday in the comfort of my home, home sweet home. Anyway, Music Monday entry for this week is Bon Jovi – Superman Tonight. This is the song from The Circle album. Anyone wants to be a hero, anybody could be a hero. It’s not about how strong are you, or you could fly, or whether you have the power of jumping through walls (which is super cool if you do have), to be a hero, it just need a good heart, a respectable persona and could be an excellent example to others out there. So, question for today, who is your hero? Jump to see who’s mine!

Who's going to fix you
The next time you break down
Stranded alone by the side of the road
It's your baggage that's dragging you down
Don't look back
Let it go

Who's going to save you
When the stars fall from your sky
And who's going to pull you in
When the tide gets too high
Who's going to hold you
When you turn out the lights
I won't lie I wish that I
Could be your superman tonight

My hero would be my father! He always has a very strong point of view (some may intimidated by him) about everything and always has been my mentor in life! Once again, who’s yours?

P/S: Gong Xi Fa Chai, Happy Chinese New Year and happy holiday to you! Happy Valentine's day!

When I am bored, I love to surf around YouTube and watching the comedy channel there. My favorite channels would be ShaneDawsonTV2 and VenetianPrincess. I wondered how much time and effort they spent in making one of their videos. My new favorite would be from VenetianPrincess, The Snooki Song (Parody of Tik Tok by Ke$ha), major LOL!

Scorpion - White Dove

Yeah! Finally, I am joining back Music Monday. For this week, I would like to share with you an amazing song, from an amazing artist, wrapped in such beautifully written lyric.

In the light of recent disaster that had happen in Haiti, with death numbers projected to be more than 200 000, this song goes to them. May God help them went through this disaster.

Some of the lyrics and pictures from Haiti disaster. Pictures were taken around the net.

Haiti Disaster 1
A place without a name
Under a burning sky
There's no milk and honey here
In the land of God

Haiti Disaster 2
Someone holds a sign
It says we are human, too
And while the sun goes down
The world goes by

Haiti Disaster 3
White dove
Fly with the wind
Take our hope under your wings
For the world to know
That hope will not die
Where the children cry

Haiti Disaster 4
Waves, big like a house
They're stranded on a piece of wood
To leave it all behind
To start again

Haiti Disaster 5
But instead of a new life
All they find is a door that's closed
And they keep looking for
A place called hope

Haiti Disaster 6
Can anyone tell me why (can anyone tell me why)
The children of the world (the children of the world)
Have to pay the price (pay another price)

And now your telling me
You've seen it all before
I know that's right but still
It breaks my heart

Haiti Disaster 7
Well, the golden lamb we sent
Makes us feel better now
But you know it's just a drop
In a sea of tears

May God help them all.. My prayer goes for them.

Owl City - Hot Air Balloon

Owl City - Adam Young
I planned to join Music Monday last week, but my works have already piling up by then. I have to do two technical writings last week. One entitled Water for The Future: Challenges and Potential Solutions and the other one is about Solid State Fermentation. I actually hate doing technical writing. You have to make sure the facts are correct and reliable, the tone must be straight forward and you need to use those technical terms. After all the hours of writing, I usually need to relax my mind. And last month, I found the right tune for my relaxing moments.

Owl City Owl City
Therefore, let me introduce to you, my latest craving of electric pop; Owl City! The music blended well with the lyrics and every time I listen to one of Owl City songs, I will be escaping myself from the reality to the place where Adam Young’s voice guided me. Awesome!

I tried to find more about Owl City, but all I can found was Owl City’s myspace website and official website. You should check out Owl City’s official site! It is one of the coolest music sites – a direct translation of Owl City’s music!

"Hello, my name is Adam.
I prefer daydreams over reality.
Music is my muse.
I write and record in my basement.
I have trouble sleeping.
These songs are all I have to show for my sleepless nights.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
It means the world to know someone is out there listening.
You have no idea how much I appreciate you.
Thank you."

- Adam Young, the genius behind Owl City

Okay, I must admit that I have a man crush with Adams; both Adam Young and Adam Lambert (check out how gay Adam Lambert in this post) that is – BTW, can’t wait for American Idol finale, but then, I would be falling for everyone that could leaves me with a warm feeling inside especially after hours in front of my laptop. See you again next time! I hope I had more time online this week. Miss you guys and thanks for your support! Happy Monday!

Check out Owl City - Hot Air Balloon! A new single will be out every month! Just sign up at the Owl City's official website to download this awesome song! And no, this is not a paid post. I here just for the music!

We wrote a prelude
To our own fairy tale
And bought a parachute
At a church rummage sale

And with a mean sewing machine
And miles of thread
We sewed the day above L.A.
In navy and red

We wound a race track
Through your mom's kitchen chairs
And fought the shadows back
Down your dark basement stairs

I lit a match, then let it catch
To light up the room
And then you yelled as we beheld
An old maroon hot air balloon

I'll be out of my mind
And you'll be out of ideas
Pretty soon
So let's spend
The afternoon in a cold hot air balloon
Leave your jacket behind
Lean out and touch the treetops over town
I can't wait
To kiss the ground
Wherever we touch back down

La la la la la laaa
La la la la la laaa

We drank the Great Lakes
Like cold lemonade
And both got stomach aches
Sprawled out in the shade

So bored to death you held your breath
And I tried not to yawn
You made my frown turn upside down
And now my worries are gone

I'll be out of my mind
And you'll be out of ideas
Pretty soon
So let's spend
The afternoon in a cold hot air balloon
Leave your jacket behind
Lean out and touch the treetops over town
I can't wait
To kiss the ground
Wherever we touch back down

I'll be out of my mind
And you'll be out of ideas
Pretty soon
So let's spend
The afternoon in a cold hot air balloon
Leave your jacket behind
Lean out and touch the treetops over town
I can't wait
To kiss the ground
Wherever we touch back down
