APPARENTLY you aren't meant to wash your hair on the day as well, according to parents it's because it washes away the goodluck from the year before or something. I had to wash mine today because I look abit greasy. Plus, my luck was kinda sh*tty last year anyway.
Usuaully mom would make what we call "leen go"... some sorta sticky mochi pudding which is shallow fried to make crispy. I lack her pro-skillz so I'll just make some little tong yuen for the house today...
Talking about being chinese, some drunk hobo was on the train yesterday, I came up to me and was like "KONICHIWA" and I laughed, he suddenly turned serious and was like "you find that funny huh?" and I replied, "I'm not Japanese." He then moved a few inches from my face and said, "you know where the best place in London is... China town." there was me thinking "well not really, i'd prefer the southbank, but nice try taking a racist jab at me."
