****'Boobie Bracelets' Banned At Canon City School!
(Canon City High Concerned About Bracelet's Message)
CANON CITY, Colo. -- Canon City High School has banned a bracelet that promotes breast cancer awareness.
Most of the bracelets say, "I heart boobies" on one side and "art. education. awareness. action. keep-a-breast.org." on the other side.
Students told KRDO-TV they have been told they cannot wear the bracelets because school administrators think the bracelets promote sex not breast cancer awareness.
"My sister has breast cancer," said Canon City High student Zach Taylor. "We all try and donate to help and support her."
"I don't know how bracelets are a distraction," said Taylor. "Sure it says boobies on it but it's for a good cause. We need these bracelets to raise money to help people with breast cancer."
Keep-a-Breast.org's website has a story on the front page is about a federal court in Pennsylvania that recently ruled against school-imposed bans of the bracelet.
