others are quiet and uptight

The quietest Stroke of all, Nikolai Fraiture, debuted his band Nickel Eye in the US on Wednesday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg.

My photos aren't that great, so I'll spare you the rest. As for the show, it was great to see Nikolai on stage again. His familiar playing style, perfect hair, and outfit felt like a home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner in the frosty November dread of winter. He takes music seriously and he's accomplished in his field. I particularly loved the slowest of all the songs, but I don't know the title. And "Dying Star" was also great. All in all, it was a great show and I'm happy to have been there.

Of course after a few drinks I dissolved into tears during the cab home, and an analytical approach to my favorite band (or whatever you want to call it at this point) spewed out of my mouth and washed over Scott's poor (and tired!!!! - especially of this conversation) ears. To make a long story short. I will support any and all of the Strokes in whatever artistic endeavors they embark on. They are my favorites for a reason. However, I do have a hierarchy of favorites within the band, looks-wise, personality-wise, and now songwriting-wise. And Julian always wins.
