pq - Louise on Earth (7'')

Somewhere in the middle between ambient, acoustic rock, electronic and modern classical music there are pq . This 7'' has two very calm, relaxing tracks on it, Louise on Earth and Countdown To Elise. If you are in the right mood, both of those tracks can send shivers down your spine and both tracks are only a taste of what pq, hailing from Bruges, Belgium, have to offer. They have also finished recording their debut album which was set for release on Expanding Records in 2009 but has not yet come out.

Until then, you are left with two beautiful little tunes that I definitely urge you to listen to.

Movie:
The Hunt for Gollum is a fan film based on elements of J. R. R. Tolkien's epic fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. The film is a sidequel to the events of The Fellowship of the Ring, and is based on expository passages in both the novel and in its appendices. Its visual style is inspired by Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, but the production is completely unofficial and unauthorized by the Tolkien Estate, Tolkien Enterprises or New Line Cinema, which produced Jackson's film trilogy. The film was directed by Chris Bouchard and shot in high definition video.

The Hunt for Gollum debuted at the Sci-Fi-London film festival and on the Internet, free to view, on 3 May 2009.

The Tumbled Sea - Melody Summer (2009)

Visitors of this Blog might already know The Tumbled Sea, because the first wonderful album has already been reviewed here.

The second album of the one-man-project from Boston, Massachusetts, combines again the most beautiful piano melodies and invites you to (day)dream. Obviously you can´t do anything else than sit down, close your eyes and listen to these amazing sounds.

To mention „nice sounds“ as influences and describe it with „something you like to listen to hopefully“ seems to be truely understated for this really wonderful gentle-dreamy music.

Fortunately you can download „melody summer“ for free in 128 kBit quality. If you want higher quality or a physical copy of the album (with hand-stamped artwork in a nice slipcase), 5 dollars should be a good investment.
