At Blowoff's NYC Pride Party

I haven't allowed any self-photos on this here blog in a while, but I don't hate this shot by Father Tony too much. That's superstar DJ Rich Morel on my left, then birthday boy (30!) Eric Leven, then Tony's husband. An amazing night that including an fantastic state-by-state equality countdown on the giant screen. You'd have thought the roof was coming off when New York came up. More of Tony's photos are here.

NY SENATE APPROVES MARRIAGE!!!

The vote was 33-29!!!!

I love you, New York.

Now please excuse me as I slip away for some heavy drinking. Marriage equality in New York has been one of the top focuses of this here website thingy for a long, long time.

Fire Rabbit and Hot Shit Form Here New Look!

Rabbit Year

Move away Tiger, this is my year! My colleague emailed me about my Chinese Horoscope. Apparently, I am Fire Rabbit; the leader of all the rabbits. On that note, welcome Rabbit year and Happy Chinese New Year to all my readers!
The year of the Rabbit: is in sharp contrast to the explosive year of the tiger. It is a year of placidity and respite where little will be set in stone; a carefree happy year that will be both temperate and relaxed.
By the way, have you noticed Hot Shit Form Here new look? Do you like it? I was inspired by beautiful book covers (yes, I love to read books, the real one). As mentioned by lots of reading posts lately, I always judge a book by its cover; well, you need an escape after all those words don’t you?

Let me know your thoughts!

P/S: Hopefully, this will be the boost I have been looking for!

5 Things not to be done during Eid ul-Fitr in The City

1. Playing firecrackers

Mercun Firecrackers
Not good for your health (photo credit)

Kids, if your parents are so supportive enough to buy for you mercun (firecrackers), always remember, be careful while playing with it. You do not want to be missing a finger or two when the school term start. Parents do watch your kids closely when they are playing with it. Make sure you put the candle/lighter/source of fire away from the kids. Do not be so ignorant like this guy.

2. Going to shopping malls
If you are planning to savor your Hari Raya (Eid ul-Fitr) mood in the shopping mall by watching movies in the cinema or doing some shopping, just scratch your plans. Trust me, you do not want to be stuck in the sea of foreigners hanging out there. The smell alone is deathly.

3. Laying on the street
There is an urban legend that said you can lie on the road or highway during Raya since most of the city folks already went back to their hometown, this is not the case at all. Unless you want to be the first laying death body during Hari Raya on the newspaper tomorrow, please avoid testing this theory.

4. Kidnapping others

For God sake, please wait till after Raya to kidnap someone. Yes, I am talking to Sosilawati Lawiya, the RM100 Million worth kidnapped case (along with her lawyer, a bank officer and her driver). Sad.

5. Burning al-Quran

The proposed International Burn A Koran day by Pastor Terry Jones to mark the upcoming anniversary of 9/11. My question is what actually he wants to achieve by doing this kind of act? The message of peace should be spread among others and not being fuel further.

(updated: the pastor is said to cancel the plans to burn the Koran)

I am celebrating my Eid ul-Fitr (in Malaysia it was called, Hari Raya Aidilfitri) in the city this year. Therefore, I would like to wish Muslim all over the world, Happy Eid Mubarak. Have a peaceful and blessed day!

Anyway, during the USM graduation day, I managed to meet all of them and congratulate them personally. The President of USM Blogger Club (yes, I am electing one right now) is Bubbles182 a.k.a. Kak Juls! The only one that's missing is d2z, but he's not graduating yet this year. Nevertheless, these are some of the pictures taken on that day. Thank you so much Kak Juls for the super cute teddy bear and card. Hopefully will have a reunion like this in the future, soon!
