The World is Getting Weirder Everyday!

Drunken Gorillas 1
Drunken Gorillas

How often did you see drunken gorillas?

When wildlife photographer Andy Rouse was told he would find a family of endangered gorillas high on the mountain, he did not expect to find them this high. Sitting back in the foliage as if it was a cocktail bar, the mountain gorillas had been gorging on alcoholic sap from fresh bamboo shoots and were looking distinctly the worse for wear.

When the snapper returned the following day, all was quiet, with the apes apparently sleeping off their hangovers. We can only sympathize with the shock no doubt experienced by some of the beasts when they awoke and discovered who they had spent the night with.

A Prayer Machine

How lazy are you to pay a machine for reciting your prayer? Does it still count?

For a small monthly fee, a new Internet service called Information Age Prayer will use speech synthesis to verbalize three prayers a day for you. While the company offers no guarantee that God will answer, they do promise the computer-generated prayers will be read at the proper volume and pace, and that your name will be printed on a screen each time one is articulated.

Prices vary from $1.95 a month for prayers for your children, to $3.95 a month for prayers for world peace. As of now, you can't write your own prayers, but the company claims they will add this feature once they can assure "no malicious prayers will get through."

60ft Phallus (Penis) On the Roof

Penis on The Roof
Rory McInnes, 18, climbed on to the flat roof of his parents' home and daubed the symbol using a tin of white paint, after watching a programme about Google Earth. But parents Andy and Clare did not discover their son's rude artwork until a helicopter spotted it on top of their home near Hungerford, Berks.

When Mr McInnes phoned his son, who is currently in Brazil on a gap year, the teenager said: "Oh, you've found it then!"

The boy's father appeared to take the prank in good humor.

Shoplifter Learn From ‘Cops’

Penni Dale Waters, A 48-year-old Tampa Bay woman says she learned an important shoplifting lesson from the TV show Cops. If you lined your handbag with tinfoil you can evade the detectors at the store entrance. Unlike a lot of Food Channel recipes and products you purchase on infomercials, this handy tip really works. Waters made it out the door of her local Lowes with a power drill. She might have gotten away if she hadn't made a more basic mistake. She didn't realize a store detective was watching.

As I have been telling everybody else who are kindly enough to listen, watching television is an educating process. By the way, I am currently hooked up with the new TV show called Better Off Ted.

Slumdog Millionaire Child Actor, £1 Loo and Facebook

NEWS 1: Mohammed Ismail slapped and kicked his ten-year-old son Azharuddin in front of shocked neighbours and passers - for wanting a rest

Azharuddin, Slumdog Millionaire actor
The youngster, who played the hero of Slumdog Millionaire as a child, received a beating from Ismail Usnay, 45, apparently for disobedience. Exhausted by a chaotic welcome and a long flight from Los Angeles, he was given the day off school yesterday. But when he refused to step outside his home in the Dharavi slum in Bandra to speak to journalists, his father lashed out.

‘His father went mad,’ said a witness.

‘He wanted to show his son off to journalists and local people, but Azharuddin said he wanted to be left alone because he was tired.’

Child actor, Slumdog Millionaire's life transition
Hours later Ismail apologized for the attack. He said: “I was very sorry I did what I did. “I was confused and stressed by my son’s homecoming and I did not know myself for a minute. I love my boy and I am very happy to have him home.”

I wonder what will happen to Azharuddin after this – back to his slumdog life? Perhaps, that was exactly what his father thought. After all these madness that Slumdog Millionaire has created (by the way, a very very good movie indeed), what will happen to them then?

________

NEWS 2: £1 for on air loo

Its passengers already have to pay for a sandwich, a cup of tea and even to check in luggage. But the latest element of the Ryanair ‘no frills’ culture could catch some potential passengers short. They may have to pay £1 to spend a penny.

While many travelers might consider using the on-board lavatory as an occasional necessity rather than an extra, it seems the Irish budget airline’s chief executive views it as a convenient way of raising revenue.

It may sound like a ridiculous desperate way to increase the company revenue, but I bet lots of people are considering adopting this method. They just don’t speak it out loud like Ryanair. Who knows what they have charged us along with the ticket fares?

P/S: There once rumors that kedai mamak (Indian Muslim restaurants) will charged their customers for using their toilet. I wonder whether they are really charging the customers.

________

NEWS 3: Facebook users with hundreds of online 'friends' only have a handful of TRUE pals

Facebook
They boast of having hundreds of friends who regularly send them messages, photos, pokes and kisses. But, in reality, members of the Facebook generation only have a handful of true friends, research shows.

The study - carried out by Facebook - found that while the average user will belong to a network of over 100 friends, they will be in regular contact with just a handful.

Like, duh. I don’t even remember the last time I actually made a decent conversation with my so called Facebook friends. I only had a bunch of my real friends and families there. I have this kind of policy: I only add people that I knew, but will not reject others who wanted to add me as their friend. In the end, I received at least 5 new add request a day. May be they think I am cool, or not.

Hot News This Week #5

Spanking new Hot News This Week

News 1:

After stopped my circulation of Hot News This Week for quite a sometime now, I decided to refurbish this supposed to be weekly session. Thus, with a new spirit and new Hot News This Week header, you can see the old header below, plus a brand new tagline instead of “News That Caught My Attention throughout This Week” (long and boring) to “The News You Want to Hear” (short and relating to the picture accompany it). Nonetheless, the content is about the same, if not only better. I will choose news that is worth reading and commenting throughout the week. I prefer health relating news, family, entertainment, politic, economic and most of it will be weird and open to debate news. What about you? What type of news do you prefer to read and comment on? Give me your thoughts!

The old Hot News This Week

News 2:

How your kitten a week before born will looks like? Or your cute little Chinhuahua during the final week of pregnancy will be? Or how a baby kangaroo in its mother's pouch, where it will stay for six months before it hops into the world will looks like.

This baby kitten is just a week away from being born

A Chihuahua fetus in the womb during the final week of pregnancy

The National Geographic channel and Channel 4 series (in Britain) have traced his incredible journey, from conception to birth, using revolutionary film-making processes. Since you cannot just stick a camera into an animal’s womb (because you will end up killing the embryo), they have to get a help from a team of model makers to recreate the embryos at various stages.

After about five weeks in the womb, this lemon shark embryo has started growing gills

So, thanks to the latest technology, the ground-breaking photographic techniques, plus state-of-the-art graphics, 4-D scanning techniques and the most sophisticated natural history models ever, have all been used to provide an unparalleled glimpse into a world that few of us would ever expect to see.

An Emperor penguin chick embryo inside its egg

A baby kangaroo in its mother's pouch

Well, now you know how much alike we have with those animals. Without the brain or usage of it, no wonder there is a say, “bodoh macam lembu” or a direct translation in English, “stupid like a cow”. We do much alike with those animals more than we are dare to admit. Do I still gonna hear "Aww.. These pictures are so cute..."?

Hot News This Week #4

>> HOT NEWS THIS WEEK: Is World Getting Crazier?

Seriously, who would say something like that? Except for wars, poverty, food crisis, oil price skyrocketing, market slumming, environmental disasters and the surge of sex related crimes, the world is fine. We (at least the readers of my blog) are still alive and kicking frantically clicking through the webs. Nevertheless, we should stop for a while and reflects our world conditions. No, I am not talking about nature and how to save them again, not yet.

News 1: A Racist Grandmother

A grandmother, who has a daughter and three grandchildren, was woken three times by a group of drunken and noisy students, who were shouting drunkenly and kicking bins. The former policewoman got dressed, went outside and shouted at them:

"Why can't you go back to where you come from and make some noise there? I bet your families and neighbors wouldn't put up with it. You don't care about us and do just as you like. What gives you the right to frighten my elderly neighbors, cause damage and keep us awake at night?"

And 4 months later, she was charged for using racially aggravated threatening words. It turned out that two Asians in the group had complained to the police. In her defend:

"The last thing I am is a racist. I have a totally inclusive attitude to different races and cultures - I don't care if you are black, white, green or a Martian. Their color had nothing to do with it - it was their behavior."
Well, I am an Asian too. But I don't think what she did is racist. The 51 years-old just trying to get some sleep for God sake. This incident only shows that authorities today are willing to charged without using any common sense. Not that I agree that racism should left unpunished, we just need to consider the facts and situations before any further harm was done. Racism should be handled delicately as it is a very sensitive issue (Malaysian government, please take note).

News 2: First Man In World to Give Birth Shows His Child

"Thomas Beatie says he is just like any other normal father. But he is about as far as you could be from typical. He claims to have given birth to the child. Although born a woman, Beatie had his breasts removed and lives outwardly as a man after changing his gender to male. The 34-year-old says he retained his female sex organs because he intended to have children one day." - Daily Mail

Okay, the truth is he is still she as she still has female sex organs, but to make my writing easier, I will refer to the individual as he. I already read months ago about this news. Although he has not given birth then. The buzz of 'the miracle' never got to me because he was not born as a male, just change his gender later. Nevertheless, after I saw the pictures of his innocent daughter, my heart touched. I really hope that her parent will deliver to their daughter the news that the person who actually given her birth was her father instead of her mother.

This is not a really great news to debate with, and I do not specified my view of this matter. I just want to know what do you think about it.

New 3: What is in a name?

There are many weird names in this planet. Just check the celebrities children names. It ranges from the Moon and to the Inspector Gadget. I once wrote a post about name and pronunciation complaining about how my name is hard to pronounce. But, I will be much pleased with my name (and I am pretty sure everyone else will pleased with their name too) compared to this 9 years-old who name is Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii - for real.

That's the unfortunate appellation a girl was given by her parents - but now a New Zealand judge has ordered she should become a ward of court until she can choose a name she really likes. She is at the center of a custody battle. A family court judge cited a list of unfortunate names that he said were embarrassing or made children seem foolish among their peers.

Some names, including Fish and Chips (twins), Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Keenan Got Lucy and Sex Fruit, were blocked by registration officials, he said. But others were allowed, including Number 16 Bus Shelter, Midnight Chardonnay, Benson and Hedges (twins) 'and tragically, Violence,' the judge said.

And now, who said the world is getting crazier? I am sure the insanity of this world is not comparable from other planets in this galaxy. Just hope that the last shows of insanity before the world end is Paris Hilton will be married and settle down with her four kids. We all deserve that kind of insanity.

Hot News This Week #3

News 1: Boy Eaten By Family

When we all thought that became a sex slave to your own father is the worst thing that could happen, just imagine when you're eaten alive by your cannibal family? That had happen exactly to a 7 years-old Czech boy, Ondrej Mauerova. He was rescued alive when a neighbor's TV picked up a footage from his camera filming Ondrej's agony. The neighbor's camera was supposedly captured his newborn child, but instead, ending up with live images of Ondrej naked in the cellar, beaten and chained.

He had been partially skinned after monstrous mum Klara, 31, caged him for months while relatives who were also in a sick cult feasted on his raw flesh, an appalled judge heard yesterday. The mum wept in a Czech court as her evil was exposed in a case echoing the Fritzl dungeon horror in Austria. Ondrej and his helpless brother Jakub, nine, were kept in cages or handcuffed to tables as they were ritually TORTURED, BURNT and WHIPPED with belts.

Cops swooped on the house next door and also freed a girl posing as an adopted sister aged 13 and clutching a teddy. She later turned out to be 34! And was one of the torturers. The story's getting weirder. The boys’ mum accused the woman, fellow cult member Barbora Skrlova for brainwashing her. She wailed, "Terrible things have happened. I realize it and can’t understand how I could have allowed it."

The court in her home city heard the abuse of her children was coordinated via text messages sent by a leader of the Grail Movement cult — who was known only as the "Doctor". Her sister Katerina was also involved. The abuse trial of the boys’ mum, another relative and their bogus sister Skrlova, who fled and was later found posing as a boy in Norway continues. Three others also face charges. (read the full story here)

News 2: When Teenager Pregnancy Become A Trend

The trend believe was started by the films such as Juno and Knocked Up, and was catalyzed furthermore by Britney Spear's younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears who is only 16 when she delivered a baby girl last week. Her now fiance (only after the world knew she was pregnant) was a 19 years-old college dropped out.

17 Girls at Gloucester High School are expecting babies during this summer vacation. This is more than quadruple the number the last year. The school only has 1200 students. I sure believe that before long, baby shower will be inserted in school's curriculum. After back from summer vacation, the new baby mommas will ask each other their new babies' name. The students will be more closed than ever due to the mommy bonding. How amazing would that be? (read the full story here)

News 3: I Lost My Husband, Home and Family Because I Lost My Weight

Caution, this is a very sad story but yet, inspiring for others. I read it so tentatively until I felt like watching one of those Oprah's shows. The character is real and it happen in the real world. Who might thought that slimming down from a dress size 26 to a slender size 10, won the Slimmer of The Year tittle only to ruined her life and family.

Melanie Slinger's weight problems began at 12, when her parents, a naval officer and a health worker were separated. She then married her childhood sweetheart at the age of 19 and continued to put on weight after the birth of her first child, Lucy, in 1985. Michael, 19, and Samantha, 18, followed in quick succession. Then, when Melanie's husband Jonathan, 45, an Air Force engineer, was posted to a remote base in Scotland, Melanie further struggled to cope with the isolation and thus continue to sought comfort by eating.

It took a humiliating incident to finally spur Melanie into action. She was so fat until the safety gear bar on a roller coaster could not got down over her stomach. A few days later, in September 2001, Melanie joined her local Slimming World classes. As she carried on losing weight, her spending began to spiral. She began buying things that she once could not bought (high heels, tops - up to 13 at once shopping spare, trousers). Her new found spending habits landed the family with £10,000 in debt.

She won the tittle of Slimmer of The Year. She loves the new life, feted like a superstar, pictured in magazines and the worst from it, she loves all the attentions. Then, everything else started to fall apart. Her husband even said, "We were happy when you were fat - can't you just put the weight back on." She later lost her husband, home and family. But later, in 2003, after Melanie met her new partner and she now lives in quiet contentment while trying to build up her relationship back with her children.

Moral of the story is, don't matter how much did you change your outer appearances, your inner self must always be as who you are. Do read this full story. It would be a nice remainder to us, and I am sure you won't regret it. (read the full story here)

Hot News This Week #2

Politic - Dirty? Not-lah

I am not sure whether the news about Malaysia's former Prime Minister, Dr. Mahathir Mohamad who finally decided to quits the ruling party or the American Idol finale news. Okay, fine. Mahathir wins hand down. He is a former prime minister (read detector) for 22 years. After all the bad things he had done, I still have a respect for him. As people say, he indeed 70% right most of the time. A percentage that equivalent with A++ in Malaysia's politic.

Although my father and I mutually agree that the medias are trying to light down the spotlight from Mahathir's case with the infamous six - which included a prominent lawyer, an attorney-general, a tycoon, 2 Chiefs Justice and the now Tourism Minister). The case is now not even in the front page of any local newspaper. Suddenly, the famous V.K. Lingam's tape (did you know that Lingam is also a Sanskrit word for male sexual organ? See the Lingam Massage) has disappear. Just hope that they will do something about it later.

Oh, don't forget that the showdown between Obama and Hillary hasn't yet reach the end. It had been a long run, I am glad we finally reach to the end of it.

Entertainment - Finally..
Another showdown this week is the American Idol finale. A match between two Davids - between a rock star and the prince of ballad. My vote (if I had one) will goes to the older and the rocker David. David Archuleta just too sweet (too innocent, too cute, too fragile and other "too" good qualities to describe him) for me to swallow. And Randy keeps calling him "Yo, babe". LOL. Love when he sang Chris Brown's though.
“Season seven will be remembered for that kid with the stage father who may or may not (as of this writing) have cost his son the title. It is the season when everyone thought an Irish girl with a failed CD just might be pimped to death by the show but in the end was never given a break. It was the season of guitars, pianos and yes, a ukelele. A season of forgotten lyrics. A season with iTunes. A season of an ill-advised mosh pit and useless Q&A sessions. And yet another season in which Paula Abdul upstaged the contestants for all the wrong reasons. In the end, it may be a season in which “American Idol” turned the corner and ultimately became the search for and selling of a rock star.” - Rickey Yaneza - who "has been posting MP3s and video of each "Idol" performance for as long as we can remember and treats every "Idol" season as a full-blown political campaign, complete with slogans, nicknames and online ralies" - MTV
Of course, there also Akademi Fantasia finale this week to cater for Malaysian drama appetite. Not sure who will win the it, but I think Stacy, Nadia and Riz are a good trio. That being said, I kinda annoyed with Nadia and Riz's attitude. Toi is upgrading himself very well and Nubhan is in it just to proof that Malaysian are still voting based on their look rather than talent.

Humanity - OMFG!

The first case is about the two women were arrested after being accused of allowing a fucking freakingly young 2-year-old to smoke at a restaurant. The aunt said she was concerned about the boy's welfare because the child can say and do other inappropriate things, and believes that may have picked up on the drug activity his mother displays. According to police:
The boy's 26-year-old mother and 39-year-old aunt were eating at the restaurant last week when they held a cigarette up to the boy's mouth and attempted to light it.

The aunt told police that the boy often says, "smoke, smoke," and sometimes takes cigarettes out of a pack and puts them in his mouth.

The child had been saying "smoke, smoke" while the aunt was smoking in the restaurant, and she held her cigarette up to the child's face. When she took it away,
he continued to ask for a cigarette and grabbed one from a pack on the table. - GreenfieldNOW
Oh my, could it be caused by a young motherhood? The mother too young to quit her much more enjoyable life? How do we know we are ready to become a parent? Do we need an age barrier? I don't think 26-year-old is considered as "young" nowadays, as people at the tender age of 15 already pregnant and having kids. To be matured beyond your age is a dangerous thing, especially when you have no guide from older people.

Second case is about an online hoax that ended with the suicide of 13-year-old girl, Megan Meier who hanged herself last year inside her parents' home. Their parents have said that their daughter's death was the result of the rapid decline of her online relationship with a person she believed to be a boy name "Josh Evans," who first flattered the self-conscious girl and then taunted her.

Her neighbor, Lori Drew and 18-year-old employee identified as Ashley, allegedly created a false-identity Myspace account to contact Megan, who thought she was chatting with a 16-year-old boy named Josh Evans. Truth is, Josh didn't exist. Meier hanged herself after receiving cruel messages, including one stating the world would be better off without her (!).

I am not in the position to urge people to be truthful in their networking sites when some people chose to create an alter image of themselves there, which I did for time to time. Well, life is bored if you don't know how to enjoy it. LOL. Nevertheless, try not to be safe when you're out there. Do not give any personal informations which include your instant messenger id, phone number, address, avoid upload your house's picture (which I accidentally did, and then some stranger start knocking on my front door), telling about your vacation date and place, and for underage kids, please let your parents know when someone saying that he/she is interested in you.

Oh I wish I had the power, the power to change the world
But I'm just one man trying to do it on my own
Somebody change the world,
we've got little boys and little girls,
growing up on this sinful earth,
oh whats happening?
I don't know, but please tell me,
we've got all these criminals and discretes,
killin people for no reason,
I don't know why..
Oh I wish I had the power, the power to change the world
But I'm just one man trying to do it on my own

Hot News This Week #1

Hot News This Week is about the news that caught my attention through out this week. I planned to submit this post on this weekend. But my father and I have to go to Kuala Lumpur for my uncle farewell party. He's gonna be supervising a two years project in Dubai. My mum and my older brother (not in the same trip) will also go to Indonesia this weekend. I guess I will be seeing real human being less and less this holiday. Mental note: Will have to hang out with my real friends (not those friends in social networking sites) next week.

Miley Cyrus and Her Photos Scandal

Who is Miley Cyrus? She has a hit TV series - Hannah Montana, an album with the same title and very successful sold out tour Best of The Both World. Oh and her father is a country singer Billy Ray Cyrus (Check her out HERE for more). I am not really into any teenage sensation nowadays, but I think we should pay a little bit more attention to this girl. She is in the spotlight after posed topless for cover of June 2008 Vanity Fair. The photos were said to be too racy for 15 years old because she is the role model for ages 6 to 14 kids all over the world. She then issues apology for the photo shoot.

The singer, tells PEOPLE magazine: "My goal in my music and my acting is always to make people happy. For Vanity Fair, I was so honored and thrilled to work with Annie Leibovitz. I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be 'artistic' and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed." A source close to the singer tells PEOPLE that Cyrus is clothed but shown by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz in such a way that that the teen appears to be topless.

A spokesperson for Vanity Fair has defended the publication, saying: "Miley's parents and minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley. The article accompanying the pictures quoted Miley as saying the pictures are "really artsy. It wasn't done in a skanky way."

Nevertheless, I think the picture (above) is indeed beautiful. Miley Cyrus should be more concerned about her kissing another girl photos, her posing in bikini, very very sexy photos, pictures with her used to be boyfriend and in her infamous green bra. Well, I sure hope other underage kids (who willing to force their parents to buy a $1200 concert ticket) would not follow their role model step into this path. As I said before. We should all be concerned about this one of the kind kid (her voice is not bad though). Parents, keep a close eye for what your kid's into!

Sex Slave to Her Father For 24 Years

This is one of the few strange (and shocking) news I ever read.

A 73-year-old Austrian man has confessed to imprisoning his daughter in a windowless cellar for 24 years and fathering her seven children. A 42-year-old woman had told police on Sunday that her father, Josef Fritzl, lured her into the basement of the block where they lived in the town of Amstetten in 1984 and drugged and handcuffed her before imprisoning her.

"Fritzl has now said that he locked up his daughter for 24 years and that he alone fathered her seven children and that he locked them up in the cellar," Franz Polzer, head of the criminal investigations unit in the province of Lower Austria, said.

For 24 years police thought missing Elisabeth Fritzl had run away from home to join a religious cult. Then, the full sickening horror of her secret life emerged - for all that time she was allegedly held captive in a cellar by her rapist father Joseph by who she had seven children. Astonishingly Elisabeth, 42, lived with three of the youngsters in the 1.7 metre-high dungeon reached through a garage and accessible only by an electronic lock with a special code.

Their captivity emerged after eldest child Kerstin, 19, was taken to hospital unconscious with a mystery illness. Doctors found a note in her pocket from her mum begging for help.

One of her 7 children died at birth, 3 were "adopted" by Josef and her wife (who did not aware of the situation) and the other 3 youngsters were imprison with her mother in the windowless cellar. They never step outside their whole life. Joseph is now under arrest suspected of incest and keeping his daughter in captivity. Talking about putting the devil face in the human body.

The peak of this news was that Josef's wife and his neighbors never realized the captivation. The lack of awareness that is not a typical for the current trend of neighborhood. We barely know our neighbors and vice versa. Sometimes, the only moment we exchange a couples of word are when we throw out the rubbish. Oh wait, that's not being done anymore. Usually in suburban area, we all have a maid to do it for us. Not to mention those endless high fences and never-to-open-windows.

We all did this in the name of "Security", "Privacy" and don't want to be label "Busy Body". In the end, this what happen to the society. We all should be ashamed when we know a crime had been done right in front our nose. Sigh...
