'Willing Willie', to return or not to return? Take the poll!

With the recent turn out of events, Willie Revillame has announced that his show "Willing Willie" will be off air for two weeks or until he makes up his mind of continuing the show without the sponsors.

What do you think, guys? Should "Willing Willie" go on air once again? Or is it better for TV5 not to have the show anymore?

Poll: ''Willing Willie", to return or not to return? Cast your votes!

Background

The controversial March 12 episode of "Willing Willie" where a 6-year old boy named JanJan Suan did a macho dancing act as his talent in a segment of the show, has been found to constitute child abuse by some government agencies.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board is currently investigating on the matter. Meanwhile, the show's sponsors have pulled out their ads on the show.

POLL: Which Mainstream Media Organization is
The MOST Unreliable?

November 11-30 2008

With all of the true confessions now hitting the public about the off-kilter coverage of the election, we thought we'd ask a question.

Which "news" organization was the worst?

The Washington Post has already admitted that the paper's coverage heavily favored Barack Obama. Newsweek's editors then went on the record about their doubts about "media creation" Obama's "creepy" "cult of personality" supporters.

The LA Times--after trying out a variety of excuses--wouldn't release a video of Obama toasting former PLO spokesman Rashid Khalidi at a 2003 gala.

The NY Times has been silent, but that may be because the paper laid off its ombudsman in the latest round of lay-offs. We're only speculating.

TIME featured Obama on the cover more times over the last 42 weeks (10) than it did Princess Diana (eight) over her lifetime.

MSNBC's ratings are proof the network is not watched--and not to be taken seriously as a news source.

Pick a winner below. We'll announce the results after Thanksgiving in a few weeks.

Should We Cancel Avril Lavigne's Concert in Malaysia?

Immoral? Who cares?

In case you haven't read about it, there were rumors circulating the internet saying that Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Tour in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has been canceled. Then today, Malaysian government officially said that the concert will goes on as planned if only they have a valid permit for doing that. The same excuse was being used to Inul Darasita’s (a dangdut’s superstar) supposed to be concerts. Both her concerts were canceled in a short notice. And of course, she cried and fainted when she heard the news. I am sure she would not come to Malaysia for quite sometimes after this. Oh, there is also lots of fuzz when Beyonce changed her tour from Malaysia to Indonesia while Christina Aguilera skipped Malaysia on her Asia tour schedule. Gwen Stefani has to ‘tune’ down her clothes and the Malaysian organizer was fined RM10, 000 (USD2, 857) after the U.S. girl group was accused of flouting decency regulations.

After reading comments circulating in the websites from whether foreigners who never even come to Malaysia and from those who said they are from Malaysia, I feel quite ashamed and embarrassed. For what reason was other people have the right to blame other country for practicing and preserving their culture? Oh hell, who am I bluffing? Before I continue my rambling further, let me point out several factors for you to decide whether or not the government should cancel Avril Lavigne’s concert:

Nice abs!

Why Malaysia Government SHOULD CANCEL Avril Lavigne's Concert:

1. It is morally incorrect to invite Avril Lavigne and her immoral behaviors who one said may or may not include ‘jumping, shouting, hugging and kissing on stage’ – which was ‘refrain’ illegal in Malaysia. Malaysia also requires all the performers to wear clothes without obscene or drug-related images and to be covered from the chest to the knees.

2. Malaysia's Independent day is coming up on 31st August. It seems improper that close with the day our nation celebrates its 51st independent day, we celebrate it with a concert from foreigner artist!

3. For God sake, who watch Avril Lavigne anymore? If Perez Hilton spoke the truth, Lavigne’s concerts and album did not sell well in US. Nevertheless, Lavigne told MTV News on Thursday that she plans to put on a good performance for her Malaysian fans. "I've already sold 10,000 tickets there, so I will be going to put on a concert for the fans," Lavigne said in the interview, posted at mtv.com.

Why Malaysia Government SHOULD NOT CANCEL Avril Lavigne’s Concert:

1. We need this kind of tourist attraction. People are willing to spend times and money for their favorite artists. If this problems continue, I am sure other international artists will skip our country on their Asian tour

2. There are lots of other sources that will affect youngster’s moral values. For example, internet and those entertainment channels. Well, like ASTRO (the only Satellite TV provider in Malaysia) motto, “The best seat is in your house”. We should all enjoy and relaxing while watching all the half naked ladies in those video clips

3. Malaysia government should draw a clearer guideline for the performers to follow. For example, in Kelatan (one of the highly practiced Islamic values state ruled by the state government), they required the female performers to dress appropriately; wear a scarf or tudung. They also separated female and male audiences from mixing together. Not that I agree with their regulations, but I am not opposing either

The point is, we should have clear guidelines so that the performers will know what should be followed and what should not. If they do not prefer to abide it, they could just skip the country or state. There is less embarrassed rather than last minutes cancellation that surely will waste someone time and money. So, what do you think? Do you want to watch Avril Lavigne? Should her concert goes as planned? Do you feel pity with her? Well, I am pretty sure I am not having any sympathy to offer her. For one, she super duper rich, and I am not. Sigh. Oh, and I am not going to her concert either!

Great Opinions, Bad Health - Ulcer & Tonsils

I was overwhelmed by the all the responds in my latest post, Change Your Lifestyle (READ THIS HOT POST HERE). I would like to elaborate a little bit more on the topic, but I am not feeling well this weekend. My tonsils are swelling like hell, a condition that been repeating for years since I was a kid. But last weekend it was getting out of hand or in doctor's term, my "tonsils are enlarged, reddened and exudate white patches of tonsillitis". And the worst of it, I don't even noticed that my tonsils were swelling. I thought my sore throat was due to my tongue and mouth ulcer, yet another symptoms I have been experienced through out the year. I could not post any of these pictures here as they are not suitable for general audience and for those who want to eat after reading this post. (Check them out through links at the end of this post - for the record, mine is not that bad as shown from those pictures and articles). Back to the post, here are some great opinions from my readers. Add them up and take part in my poll!

Some of My Readers Great Opinions:
  • "things are getting way out of limits, with the prices soaring the sky!" - Nisha
  • "i guess i have to give up so many things esp You-can-live-without-them-expenditures and shopping if i decide to drive a car in maincamp. *sigh*" - Izzah
  • "Hmm... The government told us to change our lifestyles but did they even bother to change their lavish lifestyles?" - Adawiyah Juzailah
  • "Reduce.. reduce.. reduce.." - e-tavasi
  • "we go to work by car. after sending me to office, my hubby will park the car and use motocycle. if it rains, we switch to car again. if not raining, we go home by bike. - Mangosteenskin
  • "i also turn off the engine when i need to sit in the car waiting for hubby to finish his work. but a lot of mosquito if it's already dark." - Mangosteenskin
  • "... people with lavish lifestyle tend to spend their socks off to show their status by buying all those dream things for the people who can't afford it. That's why every time we wanted to spend on something, we should think hard about it." - Fishy@ike
  • "At the end of the day, you only bought or use the things that you really need and no waste of money occurs." - Fishy@ike
  • "reducing military expenses" - Bluedreamer27
  • "Government should stop the corruption at the first place." - Faisal Admar
  • "You can't compare durian price between Malaysia and Japan :)" - Faisal Admar
  • "It is too bad when Governments don't think about what they are doing to the people in their country. When there is corruption the people loose so much and others gain at the peoples expense. It is so sad." - Angelbaby
  • "A cut of 10% should have been 30-40%, so they would feel the pinch too.
  • "now, i am going to work early so as to avoid the traffic jam. Tolak awal, tekan minyak pun slow sebab bawak macam buat video klip muzik" - Rizal
  • "i want to change my lifestyle by having/getting more money ;-)" - Rizal
P/S: Happy Father's day to all dads other there. I hope my health will return to normal as soon as possible :)

Fashionable Teacher

After a week haven't post any new thing, with a blink of an eye (make it 20160 times - an average of 1 or 2 blink in a minute. And that is only one of your eyes). As you may recalled, students life is not that easy. Especially in this Asia region. It's more towards academic excellence rather than self developed stuffs like other region are doing. If you put in more simpler words, I need to read more than any average student in Europe or America to pass my examination.

Nevertheless, a week of 3 major tests, Arabic listening test, Arabic oral test (I am pretty sure if an Arabian listening to what I have said, he will die in laughter) and a tedious assignment from an arrogant engineer (he's not gonna read it anyway, but we still have to make it more than 10 pages) I felt like my soul has been drained out of my body.

So, without being able to think clearly, I thought I wanna write something about a very bad attitude, selfishness. As it's an attitude that is bad (I hate selfish people!), there would be no good things that I will say. It would be a post like any usual teenage-outrages-mood-swing blog. But then, my primary subject has finally slowly realize that he's selfish. Just when you thought the fish is on your bait. Thus, I just have to buried it in my countless draft box. Will keep in mind of doing a post similar like that in the future.

Next, I feel a very high urge to write about what I called gender discrimination. People always fumes up when we talk about gender discrimination and instantly assume it was done to women. Do you know that I have found a case cases about a structured and founded organization to marginally discriminate men? They even have a secret treasurer, secretary and of course a men-head-hunter leader. Interested? You have to wait for a little longer, as I am quite sure that after my shocking revelation, my room will be a lucrative target for them. God bless me.

So, after much ado, I finally decide to talk about a more laid back topic. (as you may notice from the top picture) Fashion! Or specifically teacher's fashion. I know some of you already broke into a smile, thinking about the old looks of your old teacher. Afraid no longer, because here we will talk about it in an open manner. Forgive me if you're one of the teachers discussed here.

I remember one of my English teacher (who has a PHD in English literature) only wears sari every time she in class. She is a good teacher but we miss out most of her lectures due to the distraction cause by her waving sari. It might also due to her soothing and incredibly slow voice like a mum reading a bed time story for her child. She should be a psychiatric.

And then, there always a rose among the thorns. A good looking, well groomed, and a perfume addicted teacher. She wears different perfume each single day and never wears twice the same clothes for a month! (Seriously, I have been to her house and see for myself all her 3 closets) She always sported with the latest handbag, the latest lipstick or even driving the latest car. Plus, you could hear (even though the class is like a fish market) her 4 inch heel footsteps from three classes down the hallway. Just enough time to settle back and wait like an obedient child sitting perfectly in his chair.

The point are:
  • Does a teacher need to be fashionable?
  • People (usually old and not popular) said that if a teacher is fashionable, it will distract the attention from what she was supposed to do (teaching) to her. And that is unethical. Is is true?
  • What about a fashionable male teacher? Does he will distract female students (and some of the male students)?
Most of the university students I interviewed said that they are more interested in a class of a young spirit lecturer (not exactly in the age sense) and less in the plain and boring lecturer (no brainer here) . I personally more prefer a teacher with a character. No matter it is he/her sense of fashion or the charm in their personality. In my opinion, a fashionable teacher would not give a much problem towards more grown up students. However, that being said, they still like a person who teaches them to be more understandable, as they said, young spirit teacher.

Thank you for waiting for my update :D
