Dude, Oprah Almost Killed Wolverine At The Sydney Opera

Hugh Jackman almost lost his life for Oprah today while filming a segment in Australia this morning. For whatever reason, Oprah held her show at the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday with guest Hugh Jackman. And for whatever reason, Hugh was zip-lining in from the top sail of the Opera House but has an accident when he hit the brakes too late. And injured his eye after running into the lighting rigs which broke and sent a small piece of glass into his eye.

Medics rushed in after the ill-fated stunt but the injury was minor so they gave everyone the go-ahead to laugh at him. Seriously look at Hugh Jackman's face, the dude almost lost an eye perhaps his life on live TV. Yes, I realize Hugh Jackman is Wolverine and has arms as big as my thighs, but he also dances with a cane and sings show tunes on Broadway. Though the "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" star had practiced the stunt, he said he was distracted by Oprah, her fans and his family as he was approaching the stage and forgot to pull his break on time. The LA Times reports:

Hugh Jackman was slightly injured Tuesday when he hit the brakes too late during a stunt on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in Australia.

"That was so much fun, until the end," Jackman said of his trip to the outdoor stage on a zip line from the top of the Sydney Opera House.

"I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbour, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then, boing," the Wolverine actor told Winfrey. After banging into the rigging for the lights, he recovered sufficiently — a glass of red wine and a bandage under his eye seemed to do the trick — to sit down and teach the visiting talk show host how to eat Vegemite.

According to a news report, a calm Jackman "asked for a tissue" while he was dangling 20 feet in the air, waiting for help to come. Check out the refreshing Aussie coverage of the accident from "The 7 p.m. Project" in the video above.

"That's how much we love Oprah," reporter Dave Hughes said. "We'll take our most talented and handsome man and we'll chuck him off the Opera House, 'cause we love her that much."

Now who hasn't become lost in the crowd as they zip-lined down at 15 mph from the roof of the Sydney Opera House and forgotten to hit the brakes? LOL... Maybe Jackman had an accident because people are not supposed to be zip-lining onto stage. Anyway, Jackman made it clear that it was his fault and not the stunt team's as he became distracted by the crowd. "I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbor, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing," he explained to Winfrey. Click on pictures to enlarge.

Car Accident

Rear Left Passenger Door

This is going to be a short post only. Last Friday, when I was driving, my car was slammed by a bus. The bus was departed from its station and trying to avoid another car on his right. Unfortunately, he swayed to the left and hit the rear left passenger door of my car. Thank God my mum and I were left without a scratch.

Meanwhile, I won’t be blogging from tomorrow to Saturday. I will be leaving for Kuantan early tomorrow morning for a short family vacation there. Keep me updated by following my twitter!

In the God's Will, Everything Lies

For those who already follow my Twitter, you might already know that one of my uncles died of heart attack on the second day of Eid ul-Fitr. This is a newspaper report about him. This is just a remainder how in the God's will, everything lies. Even though it is the time of happiness in celebrating Eid ul-Fitr, we still need to remember that everything could happen in this world, no matter when and where. May God bless his soul. Amin.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police deputy internal security and public order director Datuk Jamaluddin Khalid died yesterday. He was 56.

Jamaluddin, who was in Johor to celebrate Hari Raya, collapsed in his hotel room.

He was taken to Kluang Hospital but attempts to resuscitate him failed.

Jamaluddin will, perhaps, be best remembered for his association with motorcycles, both as a lawman and as an aficionado of big bikes.

A former president of the Superbikers Association of Malaysia (SAM), he spearheaded a campaign against illegal racing, together with then federal traffic chief Datuk Supian Amat when he was Supian's deputy in 1998.
They went on a two-week campaign which saw 54 hellriders being slapped with jail sentences.

He went on the offensive against illegal racers again when he became the city's public order and traffic chief in 2004.

Jamaluddin's previous posting was as the Sabak Bernam district police chief, preceded by stints as the Petaling Jaya deputy chief and Selangor deputy traffic chief in the late 1990s.

He is survived by his wife, Datin Posiah Abu Bakar, and three children.

My Journey Home

I am home! Well, after stranded on the side of the highway for almost one hour adding up my journey to 10 hours ride, have to hitch up another bus, four seater bus to be exact (I paid for VIP bus) and then have to wait at highway toll for another half an hour since the bus could only drove my other three friends and me there. God, saying that out loud just make me realize how adventures my journey to my hometown was. At least, it makes me more appreciate and savoring my remaining days at home.

As you may have noticed, I already putted up a new header (I hope you guys like it, I really in hurry to finish it) and changed the color of my blog a little bit. This is just for the Eid ul-Fitr a day that Muslim will celebrate in next couple days. This year celebration perhaps will be the busiest year for me since my very helpful and less-appreciated-until-she-gone maid was ending up her contract. My mother doesn’t want to continue the maid's contract or take any new maid until the end of the year just to make sure that whether my dad would take or not a job offer in Kuala Lumpur.

She also hope that she will be transferred from her current work place to a nearer to home by this year end. So, my brothers and I have to do the cleaning jobs around the house. I know, you may be surprised, by it really has been long before I start to take up my finished dish to the sink again. Sigh. How things change. We are not spoiled kids. Yeah, may be a little, but we learn those domestic works from the second best teacher – by observation (the best one is to actually experience doing the job itself, but I don’t think that is the point).

Anyhow, after a tired day (the same day I spent 10 hours on the bus) doing house cleaning, sweeping, cutting grasses – my house seems like in autumn season, we spent the next day doing shopping. It seems like forever we doing the family shopping together too. Well, I guess after all, this Eid ul-Fitr is a special one. Will be missing out for the celebration! Be sure to wait for my celebration update after this!

My laptop has suffer several fatal injuries. I have to send it to the clinic (*sobbing*). Not sure when it will get better. It's a good news though. At least I could concentrate more on my study. My last examination will be on 18 July. That been said, I will continue blogger. Just may not be active as usual. Wish me luck! - bluecrystaldude
