Artistic Vagina

Less Word Wednesday #8 - Human Perspective

1926 - Yellow Calla
Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not. - O'Keeffe
This post may not suitable to be viewed during office hour and as it may deemed as offensive by some. Please continue at your own risk. You have been strongly warned...

Any thought? (Please ignore the full picture below!)

Well, as your peripheral vision may already looks for the larger version of the picture below, this is actually a flower in a close up shot. And thanks for my alteration of the picture’s hue and saturation, some MAY think this is a female sexual production organ; vagina. Do you?

The innocent flower

Representational painting, such as landscapes, people and furniture, is normally viewed at face value. A flower is just a flower; a chair is just a chair. But the manner in which an artist uses shapes can convey more than the literal content of the painting.

Once you grasp how an artist plays with shapes to convey another layer of meaning, it can open up a universe of deeper insight and, sometimes, powerfully erotic subtexts. You may never see art again in the same way.

Does name Georgia Totto O'Keeffe sound familiar to you? She was born a century before me, so I don’t know anything about her. I stumbled with her name last week after I-am-bored-and-don’t-what-else-to-do random searched in Google. I read her biography at Wikipedia and I think she was a great artist. Just see one of her many wonderful works below:

1923 - Grey Line with Black,Blue and Yellow

At first glance you see a flower and, on reflection, you might grasp features of female anatomical details such as the clitoral hood, the clitoris, the labia majora, and the labia minora. O'Keeffe is making an interesting statement in associating the vagina with a flower. The vagina is to humanity what a flower is to nature: it is life-giving, beautiful, and fragile, yet resilient.

1924 - Light Iris

Continuing with another O'Keeffe painting, notice that there are no sharp vertical lines here. Rather, there are organic, fluid shapes and outlines. These shapes are easy metaphors for the soft lips of the labia and the yellow bud serves for the small erectile body of the clitoris. There is a strong sense that we are entering into the flower, but we also get a sense that inside is a whole new universe open to us.
So I said to myself-I'll paint what I see-what the flower is to me but I'll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking the time to look at it-I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers... - O'Keeffe

O'Keeffe marched to the tune of her own drummer, which is hard enough to do today, and even harder to do a century ago when women were intended for marriage and procreation alone. She seems an interesting woman after my own heart - a loner and a lover of nature who was happiest at her remote Ghost Ranch.

Okay, I am sure not everyone is interested with arts, but I do. If you don’t like art, do read this paragraph (in case you just skipping through the post). Art exhibitions and museums are not as boring as many think they are. Art is very subjective. Some may treat blood and death body as art, some treat human parts and body as a source of arts. Other prefers classical and abstract art. For example, O’Keeffe used flowers, buildings and bones as her source of inspiration. One may view this is common things in our daily life, but she made her painting by using it. So, if you are not such a fan of art, the next time you go to an art exhibition, try to wear a difference set of eyes.

Some may deem nudity as offensive while others may not. I might look at a bowl and thinking of hot mushroom soup in this damp weather, but for some, the idea of human breast may pops in their mind. Who knows right? Human perspective is widely discussed subject, and it is a part of how human complex mind is functioning; God’s creation wonder. That being said please do not start walking naked outside your house, or even outside your room. Just to be clear, I am not promoting any public nudity. So, where do you stand? Are arts such as this will offend you? Or is it just another form of inspiration? Oh, and do not restricted your mind thinking arts only in form of painting. Song is one of its kinds too!

About Georgia Totto O'Keeffe:
I hate flowers. I only paint them because they're cheaper than models and they don't move. - O'Keeffe
O'Keeffe has been a major figure in American art since the 1920s. She is chiefly known for paintings in which she synthesized abstraction and representation in paintings of flowers, rocks, shells, animal bones and landscapes. Her paintings present crisply contoured forms that are replete with subtle tonal transitions of varying colors. She often transformed her subject matter into powerful abstract images.

One of the most respected and widely regarded American artists of the of last century, O'keefe was a modernist painter who cannot be tied down to that period - her work seems as timeless, vibrant and inspiring as it was fifty years ago.

Less Word Wednesday #1

>> Less Word Wednesday #1 >> Flying High is Overrated

This was my first 'product' resulted from what I bought as I stated in the Peanut and Butter post. As you can see, the product is not quite to my degree of approval and expectation (you could see the unevenness of the color, texture and what a hideous design), but I posted it anyway (and blamed it to my camera - I don't have a scanner here). Please be kind. Thank you.

P/S: At first I want to put this title as Wordless Wednesday as most people did, but then, the thought of not to write anything to accompany this such masterpiece is killing me. Duh.

P/S: P/S: Happy belated birthday to my friend, Angel Baby from Your Caring Angel. I wanted to wish you here, but I could not leave my comment - don't why, may be because of my slow very slow crawling internet connection. I hope you will read this :)

Peanut and Butter

Yesterday, I bought some water-colors, brushes and a drawing block, so that I could at least make an effort to do the ATC organized by Rizal from his Rest and Rileks blog, which remind me that I actually forgot to ask Rizal what ATC stand for. I am no art person and obviously lack the knowledge of certain art abbreviation. Though I understand what he wanted me to do. Anyway, as a shy student (or you could call me, famous - I don't really mind) I always surrounded by my friends, mostly future engineers who alienated by any form of arts. Thus, I was asked a lot of questions about why I bought those art stuffs. One of them even quoted a lecturer’s words, “Engineer is no joke, man”.

Do not worry as I am sure I did not break any engineer’s ethics. There is nothing wrong with the fact that an engineer loves art or the police love to teach kindergarten kids. For me, it is just like you how much you love to eat peanut and butter. Both are made from a different source and had a different taste, but you could not live without one of them. Everyone has a job whether he loves it or not and we for time to time do seek for another way to escape from the world insanity. Due to the time hindrance, we later call it as a hobby. For me, I love to see, hear, touch and sometimes make any form of art.

Combine it with my passion of human being interests (psychology, appearances and mind), I made a few ‘art works’ just for a laugh. Caution: Please ensure that your kid is away from the screen as some of my works are very offensive and has a high level of sexiness (and ugliness). Thank You.

The latest one is the really ugly beautiful Kanye West The Model (picture down below). Yes, I hate Kanye West but love his songs. The point is, your character will always be defined by your job. If you are a counselor or teacher, you are supposed to be friendly with kids, good manner, and should have the ability to control people's mind. If you are working as a policeman, you have to be punctual, a good and law abide citizen. If you are an artist, you must be have a style of your own, believe in yourself and keep wearing some weird unique accessories. It is the same with engineer, you should be able to understand complicated diagrams and done the work precisely.

My point is, other people perceptions should not stop you from doing something that you like. So, what you like to do for your free time? Something that is totally off from your career? What your colleague's perception towards it?

Wordless Wednesday

Mischa Barton The Drag Queen

Comment me at My Little Black Pot please. Thanks :)

*Updated*

Hi All,

Thanks for all your concern and wishes. I understand it all except for katunx's comment, to which I couldn't fully understand. lol. Sorry my friend...

I am feeling much much better, and already finishing (yet again) my holiday post. However, I think I better post it tomorrow (Friday) or during the weekend. As I am preparing myself for the start of new semester. My result already out for almost 3 weeks, but I still haven't find the courage to register for new semester yet, which won't starts until another 2 weeks.

As always, the most cruel thing when you're at the end of holiday, is to go back to your work/study. See you on the next post, which probably tomorrow, doing a beautiful tag from Nisha.

Regards,

Forgive My French

Language is the most interesting (and damn hard) subject to learn. At a "tender" age of 20, I already learn several languages such as English, Arabic and the latest is French. And of course, there is my mother tongue (why they don't call it father tongue?) language which is Bahasa Melayu (or Malay language or Bahasa Malaysia. Whichever they call it now). I always wanted to write a post in Malay but I am not confident enough with my ability to construct beautiful sentences that will captivate my readers (I never had an "A" for my Bahasa Melayu subject in school). So, just hope that the day will come soon.

Language may sometimes misinterpreted. The ability to diagnose a language must be achieved with a full consideration of its culture and where the place of language is spoken. How we portraits our ideas into words, to make a sentence just to form an understandable argument. It's a hard process to learn a new language. Sometimes, your tongue just couldn't handle it. As my Indian friend once said, we need a short tongue to learn Malay language, a shorter one to learn English, and a longer one to learn Tamil's. Can anyone tells me how to grow your tongue LONGER?

So, in the midst of my struggling to learn French, I flip up my ultimate guide into the French language, which is The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning French On Your Own, and it stated that there are ten reasons only why you should learn French:

  1. You love Colette's romance novels.
  2. You'd like to root for the Montréal Canadiens in French.
  3. You loved Les Misérables so much that you decided to read the original version in its entirety—all 600 plus pages.
  4. You want to avoid ordering francs with mustard and sauerkraut.
  5. You never know when you're going to run into Catherine Deneuve.
  6. You want to impress your date at a French restaurant.
  7. You love French movies but find the subtitles too distracting.
  8. They won't let you onto the topless beach in Martinique without it.
  9. Two words: French Fries.
  10. You want to meet St. Exupéry's “Little Prince.”
Note: I only know what the heck he's talking about start from the number 6 and higher. So, which one is my reason for learning French? It's not even there! I wanted to learn French because of its beauty and for the art of the language itself. I wanted to feel good, sexy and could make anyone drooling in my presence. It's the same feeling when you wish to learn British accent so that your partner will mistakenly think that you're as hot and as sexy as Jude Law. Or when you have the urge to learn Chinese so that you will be master in kungfu. Or when you though that if you speak in Korean or Japanese, you will be automatically beautiful (without any clear gender line) and your partner will somehow become irresistible-dolly-cute.

Oh, and it may be because I will be having my short holiday there. I will be going to Paris for 10 days (or more) with my family. My flight will leave this Sunday, which means I have to go to Kuala Lumpur either tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I am not sure whether I will bring along my laptop, so just in case I am not, I just want to tell all my readers that I am won't be updating my blog until I am back to Malaysia.

This year has done plenty of good things for me. Nevertheless, when it comes to my study, it was one of the most busy, mind breaking, hormone building year. I am looking forward for the half of this 2008 year! Have a great week, and happy holiday everyone!!

à bientôt (so long),

Mr Blueman

Today, I received an interesting tag from Rizal. Something about the age I want to go back to. I would love to do that tag now but I have to search for my old school pictures first. I am pretty sure you guys will be surprised for what I have look back then. Anyway, this week, I wanted to write about a heavy topic like my previous posts (such as Nature, Politic, Love, etc), but I was still entangled with my holiday mood. Thus, I decided to post my new addition to my undying dying Hot Shit Form Here.

I thought Hot Shit Form Here needs a mascot to cater my demand of advertising and attracting new readers and keep my current visitor glued here. I know these picture are not sophisticated or beautiful enough compared with my fellow Mangosteenskin, Emila and Rizal (just to name a few), but I did try to make my Photoshop useful. So, here two of it:
At first I don't know what color should I paint him.
Then, I decided to paint him blue (to match my name of course :)

I called him, Blueman! Bluecrystaldude's alter ego. And in case you're wondering, yes, Blueman sit on the toilet bowl. Hehe. Oh, and the top most picture is just some of the stuffs I did just to kill my free time. Feel free to comment!

Giving is Better Than Receiving

Giving is better than receiving because giving start the receiving process - Jim Rohn
I am sure most of us have heard the line, "it is better to give than to receive". However, in my opinion, the giving and receiving hand has the same functionality. It just like your right and left hands. It may has a different functions but the main aim is to be part of your body. Analogically, for me, giving a blog award and receiving it has the same function; to encourage other blogger to strive for more as it is a form of appreciation and encouragement.

I have been the receiving end of this matter for sometimes. I love being appreciated. At least you know that your readers really read and enjoy your blog. As matter of fact, I have received 3 form of appreciations when I am on my short holiday.

The first one was from Angelbaby from Your Caring Angels, sending me a Friend Award. The second one was from Mr Viruz from Hall of Fame, showing his sign of appreciation acknowledgment to his friends, and the third one was from Hye from Space of Reality. She gave me her sign of gratitude for being her friend. Thanks to all. [You could see all those awards at the right side of my page]

As usual, I don't like to be the same as others, so I invented my own awards just like Hye.

The first award is the Addictive Blog Award. In a simple words, blogs that I will come at a regular basis. [I prefer a notification by email compared to other social bookmarkers. It's more convenience for a subscriber to check your updates] So, my Addictive Blog Award goes to:

Antibarbie.net
About Every Little Thing
Suburbian Queen
Nisha World and Baby Alisha
Look 4 Dream Girls
Eavesdropping

Laughter is some all form of supplement that I need to make my day. I enjoy reading those blogs because the contents and the comments are funny, I mean really really funny. Needless to say, it's rare to find as a fixed phone nowadays. Thus, my Freaking Funny Blog Award goes to:

About Every Little Thing
Daisy the Curly Cat

The Professor's Blog Award is for those highly-intellectual-composed blog. It requires you to think. That been said you don't have to be a professor to read it. I wonder what a professor will read about through a blog? Must be some sort DNA replication and stuff. Prepare yourself to discover more about your thinking skills when you're entering these blogs:

Space of Reality
My Hush Space
Wise Up
My Thoughts on Stuff

And my last award, the Amazing Award goes to my faithful commenters and readers, that make me looking forward to hear their opinion every time I publish a new post. Thank you so much! My blog can't survive without you! [P/S: I got so many wonderful readers, so I have to limit my usage of Cupid's spreading love ability to only five most well behaved blogs]

Clumsy Mummy
Your Caring Angels
Hall of Fame
My Love Hub
Waliz Diary

I hope these awards will trigger undiscovered potentials in you and sharpen your current skills of blogging.

Cheers,
